Paul lives in Leeds with his fiancé, Becky, and their long-haired Chihuahua, Toby.  

Outside of work, Paul spends a lot of his free time renovating their house. He enjoys spending time outdoors, especially long walks in the Yorkshire Dales followed by a pub lunch. When he is not decorating or outside, he likes to read a good book, going to the cinema or jumping on the Peloton for a spin class.

Meet Paul

Paul joined Avyse in August 2025. Before joining Avyse, he was a Manager in KPMG’s Regulatory Retail Conduct Team. During his career in consulting, Paul has supported clients with a range of regulatory and conduct related engagements including Consumer Duty, complaints, collections and recoveries, and correcting customer outcomes through customer focused remediation programmes. Paul has a strong understanding of FCA regulation including MCOB, CONC, DISP and PRIN.

Illustrative experience:

  • Paul has performed collections and recoveries reviews at multiple retail banks, building societies, peer-to-peer lenders and motor finance provides, including s. 166 skilled person reviews, focusing on vulnerable customers and Borrowers in Financial Difficulty (BiFD) by assessing policy documentation, processes and controls and reviewing customer outcomes.

  • Paul has worked on remediation programmes for financial services providers, designing redress policy, distress and inconvenience frameworks, customer contract strategies and treatment strategies. Paul has also provided operational support to remediation programmes, analysing customer account history, evidence and customer calls.

  • Paul has worked on several Consumer Duty related engagements including validating clients’ harm and inconvenience categorisations via review panels and playback sessions, reviewing Consumer Duty Board Assessment templates to align boarder MI with broader governance reporting and completed a Fair Value Assessment by coordinating executive-level workshops and analysing relevant documentation and data.

  • Paul completed a secondment at a building society working under the Head of Compliance, assessing regulatory requirements applicable to the permissions held by the Society, uplifting policy documentation in line with Consumer Duty and performing risk and control assessments across lending, collections and complaints functions.
