Dharma Bratley, Consultant
Dharma lives near Manchester with her partner, Luke, and their puppy, Frank. When not walking Frank or watching a Liverpool game, Dharma enjoys spending time with friends, reading, and trying new hobbies.
Originally from New Zealand, she feels very lucky to spend most of her holidays reconnecting with family and friends – whether that’s back home, in the UK, or somewhere in between.
Meet Dharma
Dharma joined Avyse Partners in July 2025, bringing with her consulting experience from a Big 4, firm where she worked across the UK and New Zealand. She specialises in helping firms navigate FCA regulations, with a strong focus on Consumer Duty and MCOB rules. Dharma has led and delivered a wide range of engagements, spanning risk management, compliance effectiveness, Consumer Duty implementation, responsible lending, mortgage servicing, arrears management, and the fair treatment of vulnerable customers.
Illustrative experience:
Dharma has led Consumer Duty reviews for a range of financial service providers, including banks, building societies, and insurers. These engagements often involved full pre- and post-implementation assessments of fair value frameworks, governance structures, board reporting, and customer support operations. She has also delivered targeted reviews in areas such as vulnerable customers, outcomes testing, and complaints analysis, including outcome testing for a major UK retail bank.
She has reviewed compliance frameworks across financial services firms, including the development of traceability matrices, compliance universes, and horizon scanning practices. Dharma has also supported firms through regulatory change, assessing risk management processes and policies in areas such as business continuity, product governance, and operational risk, working closely with first and second-line teams to implement improvements.
Dharma has conducted governance reviews focused on committee-level decision-making and the effectiveness of management information. Her work ensures that data is appropriately tailored to different audiences and reaches the right stakeholders to support effective governance.
